FAQ’s

HOW LONG TO SESSIONS LAST?

Sessions will last between 45 and 60 minutes depending on your needs.

Initially, you will be offered a full assessment that will last up-to 90 minutes included in the cost.  We will then be able to develop a treatment plan from the assessment and work together in looking at how we can implement it.  You can then make an informed decision if you would like to engage in therapy.  The number of sessions required will be based on NICE guidelines and we can discus this.  We can work flexibly around your commitments, and we do offer evening appointments.

HOW MANY SESSIONS WILL I NEED?

How many sessions you require will depend on your needs.  Emma will always outline a full treatment plan and how many sessions she thinks you will need. This will be discussed on a regular basis and if it is necessary to extend sessions, the reasons for this will be explained so that you can make a more informed decision.

HOW OFTEN DO I NEED TO COME?

This is again based on your needs and Emma fully understand the financial costs involved so therefore you can discuss your options before therapy beings.  It is usually every week or every two weeks which can get longer when moving towards ending therapy.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

Emma charges £70 per session. This may seems expensive but a therapist has many outgoings, such as paying insurances, supervision costs and accreditation fees.  If you have a particular hardship then please do not hesitate to contact me to discuss options.

HOW DO I KNOW YOU PROVIDE A QUALITY SERVICE?

A therapist will have to reach certain criteria to practice such as regular supervision and training.  If you have and concerns please contact Emma to discuss.  The BABCP is  a governing body and therapists work towards accreditation with this body.   You can access their website that produces guidelines which therapist should adhere to. www.BABCP.co.uk
